Pirate Weather

Open-source, Dark Sky-compatible forecast API built on public NOAA model data.

Pirate Weather is a forecast API that returns current conditions, minute-by-minute precipitation, hourly and daily forecasts and active alerts in a format compatible with the retired Dark Sky API. Forecasts are built from public model data from NOAA, ECMWF, FMI and CMC, with optional machine-learning guidance from NOAA AIGFS and AIGEFS and ECMWF AIFS, and historical requests draw on ERA5 reanalysis back to 1940. The project is open source and also offers a hosted MCP server. The free allowance is 10,000 calls a month, with paid subscriptions for higher volumes.
