Earth Networks, now a brand of the AEM environmental monitoring group in Germantown, Maryland, operates the Earth Networks Total Lightning Network, which detects in-cloud and cloud-to-ground lightning with location accuracy typically within 100 m. Customers set distance thresholds around each site and get automatic alerts and all-clears by text, email and other channels, and the Sferic Siren system sounds sirens and strobes at outdoor venues. Live and historical lightning data is sold by API or as feeds into customer systems, with API history up to 24 months, and the Elements 360 platform handles visualization and alert management. Customers include JetBlue, James Madison University, the City of Cape Coral and the Savannah Yacht Club, across aviation, education, sports clubs, utilities and governments.
